A coalition letter from 20 member organizations of the Californians for College Affordability coalition expresses appreciation for the efforts to sustain key recent higher education commitments in Governor Newsom’s revised budget, as well as the legislature’s inclusion of AB and SB 111 in the early budget action package. The coalition also respectfully asks key policymakers to consider adopting the recommendations regarding a few other college affordability issues pertinent to this year’s state budget outlined in the letter so that the final 2023-24 budget sufficiently supports the most vulnerable Californians in affording, accessing, and succeeding in higher education.
