Our new policy brief provides an overview of the federal Postsecondary Student Success Grant (PSSG) Program, which allocates grants to improve postsecondary retention and completion rates, including critical persistence benchmarks. The PSSG program is unique for its focus on comprehensive, evidence-based supports, and it is a key resource to improve college completion rates, especially among students of color and students from low-income backgrounds.  

Our brief explains the history of the PSSG program as well as how funds have been used in the past, and offers four recommendations for legislators to improve the impact of the program.
