TICAS Applauds Veto of Effort to Block Student Debt Relief

“Yesterday, President Biden reaffirmed his commitment to providing critical student debt relief to millions of borrowers by vetoing the Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution that aimed to block his administration’s one-time debt relief program.

“The CRA is just one of many troubling attempts to block the Biden-Harris Administration from implementing much-needed debt relief for millions of borrowers across the country. As we await a Supreme Court decision on legal challenges to the program, we urge policymakers to protect borrowers from financial hardship and to support the administration’s additional efforts to improve and expand existing relief programs to help borrowers going forward.”
