On September 18, 2025, we submitted written comments to express the importance of including postsecondary education as a component of the “Understanding Participant Experiences in SNAP E&T” project. The US Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Services should include students pursuing postsecondary education who also participate in SNAP, may be eligible for SNAP, or whose families have received SNAP benefits, to better understand the unique experiences of this population. We strongly encourage USDA’s FNS to include both students and institutions of higher education in the “Understanding Participant Experiences in SNAP E&T” project.
