At a time when over 70 percent of the fastest growing jobs in Michigan require at least a bachelor’s degree, K-12 educators, administrators, and support staff are seeking new and creative ways to help students access, afford, and be successful in higher education. One of these methods includes the exploration of early postsecondary credit programming while students are still in high school. However, it can be hard for stakeholders to know what early postsecondary credit programming and supports to invest in, and even harder to advise students and families on the myriad of opportunities that are available to them.
Our new primer on Early Postsecondary Credit programs in Michigan provides an in-depth review of available program types and considerations for program implementation and evaluation. The primer also offers a guide to key investments that school districts should consider in creating a successful early postsecondary credit program for their students.
