Michigan Year-End Impact Report 2023-2024

The TICAS Michigan team spent the 2023-24 policy season putting into practice the desire we heard for more equitable engagement, greater policy awareness and education, and increasing the inclusion of community leaders and stakeholders in state higher education program and policy discussions.  

This year, our team’s guiding theme was “Transparency in Affordability.” Despite investments in financial aid, college affordability continues to be one of the predominant barriers preventing students’ successful matriculation and completion of postsecondary programs across Michigan. Through community engagement, education and training, research and resource creation, and student advocacy, four of our community’s seven policy priorities were in part or fully included in the final Michigan state budget.
