WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Institute for College Access & Success (TICAS) today announced that Sameer Gadkaree will be stepping down from his role as President & CEO. Gadkaree joined the organization in 2021, guiding TICAS through a period of organizational growth and maturation.
“I have deeply valued my time at TICAS, especially the opportunity to work alongside such a dedicated and mission-driven team,” said Gadkaree. “This is an extraordinary organization, primed to continue building on its 20-year legacy of advancing affordability and equity in higher education. After four successful years, I believe this is the right time for me to hand over the reins to the next leader who will carry this important work forward.”
Under Gadkaree’s leadership, TICAS has grown and expanded its national and state-level policy impact, launching new program areas focused on college completion, basic needs, and advocacy in New York. The organization diversified its funding base, strengthening its ability to effect policy change that advances college access and student success. In 2025 alone, the organization has secured over 3,000 press hits, visited 100 Congressional offices, and met with countless state policymakers in New York, California, and Michigan—cementing its place as a leading national voice for higher education policy and advocacy.
